Campus Library Overview

The campus library serves as a vital academic resource center, offering a well-rounded collection of more than 8,700 books, journals, periodicals, and scholarly materials. These resources cover a broad range of disciplines, including Management Studies, Computer Science & Applications, Education, English Literature, and areas related to the Institute of Mountain Environment.

To ensure smooth access and organization, the entire collection is managed through the SOUL 3.0 integrated library management software. This platform not only supports the cataloging process but also facilitates efficient issuing and returning of materials. Through the OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue), users can conveniently check the availability of any item in real-time.

The library features a thoughtfully designed reading area, providing a quiet and comfortable environment for study and research. With a seating capacity of 65, the space is furnished with ergonomic chairs and spacious desks to support focused learning. In addition, the library is equipped with 13 internet-enabled computers, giving students and faculty access to online databases, digital content, and research tools.

A wide range of e-resources subscribed to by the University of Jammu is available through the Library Internet Zone. These digital resources, along with an extensive collection of national and international journals, magazines, and daily newspapers, ensure that users remain informed about current trends and developments-particularly in rapidly evolving fields like Information Technology.

Complementing its print and digital resources, the library also houses a growing collection of electronic media such as VCDs, DVDs, and other digital formats. Over time, it has grown into a dynamic academic hub-supporting students, faculty, and researchers with access to diverse materials that enrich teaching, learning, and scholarly exploration in IT, Management, and related domains.
