Introduction

The department of Computer Science & IT of the Bhaderwah Campus is a major learning centre and has a rich infrastructure in terms of 03 computer labs (including specilized drone lab., IoT lab.) equipped with latest computer systems, workstation, auditorium, smart lecture halls and all other amenities which are essential for technology oriented courses. Till date the department has produced 14 batches of MCA and placed in various Govt. & Private sectors. The alumni of the department have excelled in different spheres of society. While most of the students are applying their learned skills in jobs of corporate & govt. sector, many students are perusing higher research degrees like Ph.D and Post-doc. The department is also offering Ph.D. program to the students and is also hosting conferences, workshops, summer schools and faculty develment programs from time to time. The Dept regularly organised workshops. IT tours, faculty development programes, conferences, tech fest, etc.

MCA

The MCA curriculum is designed to develop all round capability in the students which enable them to get absorbed in Business organization, IT industry, R&D centers and Educational Institutions. Out of the six semesters, the last semester is devoted for Project work which is to be undertaken by the students in an organisation of good repute developing software systems. The MCA is a regular course and a student admitted to this course shall not engage in any business or profession or vocation during the tenure of the course.

Admission

For admission to Master Degree Programme in Computer Applications (MCA) a candidate to be eligible, must have passed the qualifying Bachelor Degree examination in the discipline of Science, Commerce, Arts, Engineering, or Technology with atleast 50% of the aggregate marks (40% for Scheduled Caste/Tribe candidates). Selection for admission to the programme shall be made through an Entrance Test as per programme to be notified by the concerned department.

BCA Data Science

Achievements of Department of Computer Science & IT

  • Students from Department of Computer Sciences and IT, Bhaderwah Campus has participated in a Seminar on “Afghanistan Dynamics” organized by Army on 30th and 31st march, 2012.
  • Department Of Computer Sciences and IT has organized one day workshop on Information security by National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology Srinagar/Jammu on 3rd April, 2012.
  • Students from Department of Computer Sciences & IT ,Bhaderwah Campus has participated in “Manthan” SMVDU on 23-25 April, 2012. In the Event students won first prize in street smart.
  • Faculty and Students from Department of Computer Sciences & IT participated in the Earth Day Celebration on 26th April 2012.
  • The Department of Computer Sciences & IT in collaboration with The Business School, Bhaderwah Campus organized Corporate vision of Mr. Vikrant Makhija , HUB HR Head Delhi Reliance Communication in the month of September, 2012 .He delivered a lecture on Leadership Skills.
  • The Department of Computer Sciences & IT,Bhaderwah Campus, participated in Workshop on legal aspects of Business of Social responsibility organized by Session Court Bhaderwah in Bhaderwah campus in the month of Sept 2012.
  • Students from Department. of Computer Sciences & IT has participated in “VASTOORVAN” Festival organized by Islamic University of Science & Technology, Kashmir and the students brought fame for Department & for the Campus by securing first, 2nd and 3rd position in events on 3rd to 5th September, 2012.
  • The Department of Computer Sciences & IT, Bhaderwah Campus celebrated the Teacher’s Day, in which students performed various activities emphasizing on the responsibilities of the teachers for building the nation on 11th of September, 2012.
  • The Department of Computer Sciences & IT, Bhaderwah Campus organized Induction Party in the department for the freshers on 14th September,2012.
  • Faculty & students from Department of Computer Sciences & I.T actively participated and contributed generously in the conference on 4th and 5th of Oct, 2012 on “Environmental issues and challenges – Himalayan Perspective” organized by IME, Bhaderwah Campus in collaboration with University of Jammu.
  • Department of Computer Sciences & I.T, Bhaderwah Campus participated in the Mushaiyara on Buzm-e-Mousiki on 11.10.2012 organized by J&K Cultural Academy.
